My long pants mystery

I don't understand something about the fashion industry. The Gap makes extra long pants/jeans. They have a 36" inseam and while I still have to let the hem out for them to be long enough, they still have made the effort to make a longer jean which I truly appreciate. If you don't catch them within a week or so of them going online, they are usually sold out which would tell me that they are something that sells well for them. So, do they not realize that tall people wear sweat pants, pajamas, and that tall women get pregnant, too? If their traditional pants sell well in the extra long length, why don't they make sweats and pajamas and maternity jeans in x-long?! It doesn't make ANY sense to me! I've started my search early for long maternity jeans but so far I've been unsuccessful. The fact that I own one pair of sweats that are now going on 7 years old because I can't replace them and that I can't find a pair of maternity jeans has frustrated me. There are so many taller women these days....why don't we have more options? My problem is that while I'm only 6'2, I have abnormally long legs and an average size torso so until people start making 38" inseams.....I'm doomed!

This was one of my venting posts! Thanks for listening!

Metro Pizza

Ever since we moved to Las Vegas when I was four years old, we've been going to Metro Pizza. It used to be right over by my dad's old office so we'd meet him for dinner almost every Friday night. Alligator Soup, a stationery store, was right next door and we'd always get there a little early so we could look in there. They used to give out Bazooka gum with the check and they used to sell one of my all time favorite drinks....New York Seltzers.

They now have three locations in Vegas, one being close to my house. It is always packed, regardless of the day or time. They have great bread, a great big salad for everyone to enjoy, yummy pizza, but best of all....the have the best ranch dressing....ever. We went there last night with my siblings and had a great time. It's a casual family friendly atmosphere that we love!

Is there really a baby in there?

Being 4 months along is a strange phase in a pregnancy. Besides my constant hunger, I feel & look pretty much the same. I mean, I gag more than the usual person, everything is smelly & my pants are little tighter, but overall, I feel the same as I did four months ago. In between my doctors visits, I start to wonder if there really is a baby in there? That's why I always look forward to going to the doctor every month.... hearing that amazing little heartbeat reassures me that everything is OK and that the baby is getting stronger and bigger even though I can't feel him/her yet. At what week do you typically start to feel the little one?

A little baby shopping

As most of you know, I'm a bit of a planner. Wes always laughs at me because I think about things that are months away. If I know I'm going to be doing something, I like to take the time to do it right, which explains what I did yesterday. My mom, Sam & I went baby shopping! We went to 3-4 stores and then had lunch at Bajios....my favorite! I wanted to see what was out there as far as cribs, furniture, rocking chairs, strollers, etc. I wanted to look for the basics....stuff that doesn't matter whether we're having a boy or a girl. Vegas doesn't have many baby stores....we're limited to Babies R Us and USA Baby but I found quite a bit of stuff that I liked. It made me anxious to find out what we're having ~ there are so many cute things out there!

For all of you moms....please comment with any suggestions or opinions you have on anything. Have a stroller you love? A carseat, high-chair, anything that you have found that you've loved or hated....let me know! I love advice and everyone else's opinions - especially since I'm so indecisive!

Time at home....what is that? :)

I can't remember the last time that Wes and I spent a day....and a night....at home.....alone. I feel like since we both work all day and we usually have something going at night, I feel like we're never at home together just enjoying being home. I always have some project to work on or we're running around. While Wes played golf and I coached volleyball on Saturday, the rest of the day was spent at home. We cleaned a little bit, organized a few things, made homemade bread, ordered pizza, watched TV, and just hung out together. I can't remember the last time we just hung out at home on a weekend. I have to say that I thourougly enjoyed it & I think we'll be doing that more often. Even though everyone keeps telling us to go out while we can.... :)

Flashback Friday - London

One of my most favorite times in my life was when I did a BYU Study Abroad in London. I spent about two months there in 2001. When I got there, I didn't know anyone and I left with such wonderful friends. The five of us in this picture all keep in touch regularly.
We lived in Nottinghill in the old Russian Embassy that BYU bought years ago. Tina and Tony ran the place - they cooked for all of us every day & we even had people that cleaned our rooms/bathroom for us. Could life be any easier? They genuinely wanted us to enjoy our experience instead of worrying about cooking, cleaning & homework. :)

I've been back to Europe (Italy) since this trip & I've come to realize that I will never truly know a city unless I get to live there. I feel like I truly know London. I got to not only do the touristy things but have a day-to-day life there. We had time to enjoy the beautiful parks & see endless plays and just live life in England. We went on two week long trips. One went south and one went north. We went all over England & even in to Scotland. What a beautiful country that I can't wait to get back to. I would love to live there for a while someday. Sam & I talk about going back with just the two of us since we both did a study abroad there and we appreciate the same things about London. We haven't made it back yet but I'm hoping to do it in the next few years.

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a wonderful day today is ~ I really do enjoy Valentines Day. To me, it's a day that gives me even more of a reason to think of Wes all day and to do nice things for not only him, but people that are close to me. Wes has been out of town for 3 days and he gets home tonight around 11pm so I'm glad I'll at least get to see him today! I would post a picture of us but I realized today that we don't have any recent photos of us. I'll have to be better about that.

Today I realized yet again how cute my family is. I watched Kyle & Abbie this morning for a few hours while Ali was running a school function and I got a Valentine from my cute neice. Ever since I can remember, my dad has always gotten his daughters something for Valentines Day. He gave me a beautiful necklace at work and a couple of hours later I got a bracelet in the mail from Wes. I went to a meeting & when I got back, my mom had been to my office and dropped off a cute heart shaped pewter bowl full of yummy cinnamon hearts. How cute are they? I felt like it was my birthday. :) I am so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people daily. I definitely don't deserve them. Happy Valentines Day to you all!
