We basically did a repeat of our trip in early August over Labor Day. I had a cousin getting married [Ashlie] and Wes had a cousin getting married [Matt] on September 1st in Salt Lake. When we found out Wes’ parents would be there – we knew we were all going! We love seeing family.
Once again, our fabulous friends Ryan & Leslie opened up their home to us. They are the best. I love that our kids are friends even though we only see them a few times a year.
On Friday, we spent the entire day with Grandma & Grandpa G and Aunt Julia. We went to the Children’s Museum & then over to City Creek for lunch at The Blue Lemon. We walked around Temple Square [it was our kids first time there] and then walked around City Creek. It was great to be able to see them and visit with them!
Saturday was wedding day. We met Grandma & Grandpa at Café Rio for lunch and then Wes headed to the temple for his cousin Matt’s wedding. Then the wedding festivities got a little crazier so Wes took the boys to Matt’s reception at 5pm while I got to go to Ashlie’s wedding & reception in my Aunt Leslie’s beautiful backyard sans kiddos! Thanks Wes. And then Wes loaded up the van and drove to the cabin with the boys and I kept Sam company on her drive. Another great trip to SLC.
Have I mentioned that I absolutely love SLC this time of year? There are fruit stands and farmers markets everywhere. We brought home some of the best apples and peaches I’ve ever had. And the corn is always delicious.
The rest of Labor Day weekend was spent at the cabin. The weather was PERFECT this go around so we basically spent all of our time outside. The kids really got in to playing games outside – “centers” as Daisy liked to call them: Hula Hoops, Corn Hole, Hide & Seek, baseball, catch, etc. A group went horseback riding. We went four-wheeling. It was wonderful. We love it on the mountain.

What a ridiculously fun whirlwind! Oh my goodness you did a ton in just a few days! I am always impressed at your organization (even if you don't think you are - you are wickedly impressive!). I love the pictures of you especially, I don't see enough of you!! And love the pics of the kiddos at the cabin.
I will have to remember the "centers" idea for playdates and such :)
You guys are always somewhere having fun. Looks like it was a fun trip. We love Utah this time of year too.
Such cute kids!
